Hi there!

I’m a digital designer with more than 15 years of experience working on interactive projects for web, mobile, and site-specific installations. I’m currently a Product Design Team Lead at Datadog, where I manage a group of five designers and guide the design of products in the alerting space (Monitors, Incidents, Events and SLOs). Previously, I was the Digital Art Director for The New York Times Magazine, where I oversaw the design and production of the Magazine’s special issues and features. Apart from The New York Times, I have worked with other great companies and cultural institutions such as The National September 11 Memorial Museum, The Eisenhower Memorial, The National Museum of American Jewish History, The New York City’s office for Media and Entertainment and the Liceu Opera House in Barcelona.

The projects that I worked on have been recognized with awards by the Cannes International Festival of Creativity, the World Press Photo Foundation, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, the American Alliance of Museums, the Society of Publication Designers, the D&AD Foundation and others. The Digital Magazine

The New York Times Magazine

One of the core values of The New York Times Magazine is graphic design. Every year, the magazine is among the most awarded publications when it comes to this field. Most of the focus is on print design, which gets often lost for the web, where most of the Times readers are.

To solve that problem, leveraging some of the existing production systems at The Times, I created a framework and series of workflows to facilitate the production of special issues online, define best practices and establish some guidelines to recreate the spirit of print design in a responsive environment. I also defined some systems to incorporate digital processes in the regular print production, to distribute tasks and involve more team members in our operations. This involved both the creation of scripts to automate tasks, as well as regular training and mentorship.
